Raised by the Feed – Zine
The purpose of our team’s zine is to raise awareness of how influential social media is for younger generations, such as Gen Alpha. Many pre-teens rely on social media as a place of community and belonging; therefore, many kids are prone to base their identity on the current trends and beauty standards. Through our zine, we hope to educate the parents of the younger generations on how to guide their children safely through the digital age.
Growing Up Online – Podcast
Based on our zine, our podcast is about the youth’s perspective on social media and its effects. By interviewing each of the members of Team Swan, we share our personal opinions on social media’s impact, particularly its impact on Gen Alpha and our childhood experiences growing up online. We also compare the childhoods of Gen Z and Gen Alpha, highlighting how social media has shaped each generation differently. Our goal is to educate both parents and teens about the often overlooked effects of social media and encourage listeners to think about its influence on young people.
