Unplugging the Screen
For our infographic, we wanted to provide solutions teens could use to get away from social media. Teens and youth spend a substantial amount of time on it and this is linked to poor mental health, which has long-term effects as it creates an unstable foundation for adulthood success. We wanted to create something simple and straightforward with the aim of not causing over-stimulation, like social media tends to do, on the brain and make it as easily digestible as possible. With a soothing color scheme and child-like font, we wanted to create a calming atmosphere for our target audience of teens in order to be the most effective with getting our message to them.

Exploring Teen Minds
In our podcast, we wanted to focus on how social media has become a space for teens to share their feelings and experiences. While this may be viewed as a positive, teens have posted an excessive amount of sad and depressing content, leading to a decline in mental health. Throughout the podcast, we play a series of audios and explore its short and long term impacts on teens. Playing various trending audios associated with depressing experiences helps immerse the listener into a space that allows them to evaluate their own connections and realize the effect constantly seeing this type of content has. We felt this was an important issue to recognize because of the amount of time teens spend on social media. Our target audience is teens and we want them to walk away being more conscious of the content that they consume on social media and how it makes them feel.
