Diary of the USC kid

The more I visit the USC campus the more I feel like a true trojan, especially when we get the opportunity to roam around by ourselves. This week has been steady but fun. It has also made me realized that we are soon coming to an end. We only had AYA for three days this week. On Wednesday when we officially ended with our last facilitators reality hit. Nothing is permanent, that is why we should enjoy and live every moment.

Although this week has been the most extremely short, it was one of the most eye-opening weeks for me. We got to do so many projects and hand-on real life work in comms 101 and journalism. In communications we were assigned our final which is our first group project. I’m so ready to partake in this assignment because I enjoy working with others. Journalism also had the whole class participate in making a news report show. As a class we all pitched in into making a script and our anchors made our scripts become reality.

I would like to take this time to appreciate the lunch. The lunch was superb as usual. I love how lunch isn’t repetitive and it’s a different taste everyday. I remember one day we had tacos then another day we had California Chicken i believe the place was called. My memory is a little foggy but all I know is that it was delicious. And let’s also take the time to appreciate the game we played as well. We played bingo before heading to lunch and it was really fun and creative. I’ve never played bing in such a way before. It was very interesting.

The most inspiring guest speakers came to AYA and spoke to us. I’m very grateful that it was arranged because their words spoke to me. I felt empowered after hearing every one of their stories. They all had different backgrounds and came from nothing , but they built themselves up and turned themselves into something which is encouraging. The speakers allowed me to comprehend that it’s not too late to start building my future now. One of them also quoted “Retire your fears, they’re tired” and I love that so much. From now on I will be living by that quote.

This concludes the second to last reflection( or it might be the last I’m not for sure yet). Can’t wait for next week because that when we will be meeting the famous Ms.Willow Bay. She is the dean of USC Annenberg. On the 10th is the last day of this program overall which is really sad. I had so much fun meeting new people and receiving new experiences. I’m pretty sure next week will be a slow and quiet week. Next week will be of unwinding and appreciating everyone and everything. Also will be a week of recognition, recognizing all the hard work we’ve done. I hope you guys loved this weeks reflection. Stay tuned for the next one!
