The realm of media proves vast.
Lodged between this vastness, we find bias, misinformation, misogyny, racism, and blatant disregard of inclusivity for certain audiences.
Throughout history, this has been an eminent issue.
Indeed, day by day, the news gets grimmer, darker, and more stories rise with subjects resembling titles such as “Racist, Sexist Depictions of Human Evolution Still Permeate STEM.”
Similarly, “America Lost its Optimism,” NewsWeek titled its February 2023 article.
The own future of the nation has lost its hope in it.
In this way, many shun the media, shun the news, shun the people who disagree and disconnect.
The hopelessness that not only voting citizens of the U.S. face, but that is also eminent in the students at the Annenberg Youth Academy when asked to speak in a podcast, is almost pervasive.

However, this is wrong.
The hopelessness of the youth is wrong.
This is due to the notion of civic engagement: America was created from the basis of immigrants and democracy; its beauty still lies in working together to fight for a truly good future.
Thus, this is a call to action to not only those who make tangible action by voting, but to all members whether they have tactile rights or not.
Civic engagement is defined as collective actions packed with a cause to identify and subsequently address issues of public concern.
The hopelessness clouding the nation, therefore, is in desperate need of repair.
In a nation of free speech and expression, we must find our voice and fight for the once-moral light America was founded upon.
