On the week of June 19, 2023, USC officially started its Annenberg Youth Academy Program, offering young and imaginative students an immersive experience in the world of communication and journalism, crucial for fostering media’s civic engagement.
Discovering this opportunity was life-changing. After hours of researching summer programs, my finger stumbled upon the perfect match for me: the “University of Southern California: Annenberg Youth Academy for Media and Civic Engagement.” I first met USC at the age of 8 when my church teacher, who was then a USC student, graciously offered a tour of her university for a few of us kids. Returning to this campus years later flooded me with a wave of nostalgia and fond memories. From Tommy Trojan to Doheny Library to the White Horse, I was greeted by their familiarity.
